Once students understand when to use the FLoSS(Z) rule and have had lots of practice reading and spelling words with '-ff', '-ll', '-ss', '-zz', you can then teach lessons that incorporate everything that they have learned previously. For instance, you can begin using FLoSS(Z) words that also contain digraphs and blends, like chess and spill.
