Ashley Nichols, M.Ed.

Ashley Nichols is an educator who has been in the field for over twenty-two years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education at Auburn University and earned her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University. Her experiences range from teaching second grade, kindergarten, working as an intervention teacher, and providing instructional support to teachers. Ashley holds a Dyslexia Endorsement and has been formally trained in structured literacy through the Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) program and REAP: Reading is Essential for All People (opens in new window). She is also an Acadience Reading K-6 Mentor and conducts training on the Acadience Reading universal screening and progress monitoring assessment. She is currently serving as an instructional coach in the elementary setting, with a passion for ensuring students acquire the necessary early literacy skills so they can be proficient readers and writers. Her knowledge about the Science of Reading and personal classroom experience helps her as she works with teachers on incorporating structured literacy practices in their classrooms. Ashley spends her free time reading and learning about research based instructional strategies and methods to teach the foundational reading skills and is an active board member of the Georgia chapter of The Reading League.
