Literacy Leader for REAP, Acadience Training Specialist

Ashlea Edwards earned her Bachelor of Special Education from Mississippi State University in 2012 and her Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Georgia State University in 2018. After being an Acadience Mentor for three years, Ashlea became an Acadience Training Specialist. Since 2019, Ashlea has worked as a Literacy Leader at REAP: Reading is Essential for All People. Ashlea trains teachers in Structured Literacy based on the Science of Reading. Ashlea is passionate about educational equity and advocating for underrepresented students. She believes all students can learn and grow, and she is dedicated to giving students the tools they need to succeed. Ashlea has a private tutoring practice where she works one-on-one with students struggling with phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, and fluency. Ashlea lives in Avondale Estates, Georgia with her husband, two daughters, and newborn son. She enjoys playing games, solving logic puzzles, and spending time with her family.
