When teaching syllable awareness, use this select group of words that will be familiar to your students, beginning with compound words. We’ve gathered below a list of over 200 words that will be helpful for quick planning, divided by their number of syllables. (You’ll start with two-syllable words and then gradually move to three-syllable and then four-syllable words.)
