Decodable — The Band

Use this decodable text to give students practice reading closed-syllable words with beginning and ending blends like loft, raft, and stick. Skilled readers will learn to recognize beginning and ending blends as two consecutive letters that come before or after a vowel. Although the letters in the blend represent their own sounds, students will blend and read the sounds as one unit. For example, the ending blend '-ft' in loft represents the sounds of both 'f' and 't', but we blend the two letter sounds together.
