Decodable — Lunch at the Shack

Ending consonant blends decodable lunch at the shack reading universe

Use this decodable text to give students practice reading closed-syllable words with consonant blends like lunch, went, best, and jump. Skilled readers will learn to recognize beginning and ending blends as two or three consecutive letters that come before or after a vowel. Although the graphemes in the blend represent their own sounds, students will blend and read the sounds as one unit. For example, the ending blend '-mp' in the word jump represents the sounds of both 'm' and 'p', but we blend the two letter sounds together.
