Word Map

Vocabulary word mapping is an easy way to deepen your students' understanding of a word. Students do this by making connections between a word and how it's used in context, how it relates to words with similar and opposite meanings, and how it functions in sentences in its various forms. 

The word map contains a blank line to write the word on (orthography) while saying the word and the syllables (phonology), space for writing synonyms and antonyms (meaning), and a large open space to draw a picture, write a definition, note additional meanings or examples (meaning), note how the word functions in a sentence (syntax), list additional forms of the word (morphology), and write it in a sentence (syntax).
