Student: Yes.

Carla Miller: Good.

Together: 'A'. /ă/.

Carla Miller: Good.

Students: 'T'. /t/. 'C'. /k/. 'H'. /h/. 'O'. /ŏ/. 'B'. /b/. [One student says 'D'. /d/.]

Carla Miller: Oh, let's look again. It says straight back, big belly.

Students: 'B'. /b/.

Carla Miller: 'B'. Let's do it together.

Together: 'B'. /b/. 'M'. /m/.

Carla Miller: Very good. 

[dip to white]

Carla Miller: What word do we have now?

Student: /n/, /ĭ/, ... /n/, /ĭ/, nip.

Carla Miller: I love how you tapped that word out. Excellent. What word did she just read?

Students: Nip. [One student says nap.]

Carla Miller: Well, let's tap it together.

Together: /n/, /ĭ/, /p/.

Student: Nip.

Carla Miller: Excellent. What did I just do?

Student: /d/, /ĭ/, /p/. Dip.

Carla Miller: Excellent. I'm moving over here to you.
