Blends
What is a blend? A blend is two or three consecutive consonants that come before or after a vowel grapheme and retain their individual speech sounds. For example, the word blend has two blends: the 'bl' and 'nd' can be separated into individual sounds /b/ /l/ and /n/ /d/.
